Was it really that long ago when it seemed like women’s MMA was more of an afterthought to the sport of mixed martial arts? Even UFC president Dana White was famously quoted as swearing that women would never fight in the UFC as long as he was in charge. Thankfully the times have changed and WMMA is getting the recognition it so rightfully deserves.
Invicta Fighting Championships is holding it’s 8th event Saturday September 6th at the Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, MO and makes history as the first all female promotion to partner up with the UFC and be shown on Zuffa’s own Fight Pass network.
Headlined by “Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson defending her Invicta atom weight strap vs tough Japanese fighter Yasuko Tamada. The rest of the card has some very interesting match ups including TUF alum Roxanne Modafferi taking on long time WMMA vet Tara LaRosa and Florida’s own Delaney Owen making her Invicta debut against JJ Aldrich.

Main card starts at 8PM EST.
