Just who is Hector Lombard?

(video via Fuel TV)

Just before Chris Weidman utterly wrecked Mark Munoz, Hector Lombard had been hailed as the next in line to challenge Anderson SIlva for the UFC middleweight strap. An absolute wrecking machine in Bellator, this Cuban born fighter is set to make his promotional debut at UFC 149 against Tim Boestsch. There's a lot of pressure to live up the hype but it will be interesting to see  what happens if he crushes his opponent and whether or not he or Weidman will get the shot at the title.

Not too long ago Ronda Rousey was trash talking Miesha Tate, vying for her shot at a title and the MMA world was only just beginning to take notice of her brash personality and devasting fight skills.  Well thank goodness times have changed! The current Strikeforce 135 lb Women's Champion is now gracing the cover of ESPN along with other elite athletes with world class bodies in the publication's annual Body Issue. Ronda has clearly become the official face of women's MMA filling the void left when Gina Carano retired. Strikeforce/UFC has a champion who is marketable, an exciting fighter and now getting the mainstream media attention that can bring womens MMA to another level. She will be making her first Strikeforce title defense against 15-1 Sarah Kaufman August 18th. We're sure after seeing this issue it's going to draw a good amount of new viewers interested in seeing how good this woman can fight. Here's a tip for the new fans, don't blink!
